A Ruler Foot and templates can help transform your quilting by enabling you to undertake creative free motion quilting in a controlled way on your domestic sewing machine.  Using the rulers will help you to stitch a large range of beautiful patterns and designs, to complement your quilts.

As using a new product can be intimidating, this class is designed to help you get the most from your Ruler foot and templates by providing hands on advice, guidance and encouragement.  Several elements will be covered on this interactive day including…

  • How to select the correct ruler foot/shank size for your machine
  • Why there are differences between template thickness
  • All about other tools and equipment that will give a good set up
  • How to fit the foot and get you started, beginning with simple straight lines and curves.
  • Tips for holding templates and manoeuvring your quilt project
  • 3-4 step-by-step pattern exercises designed specifically to help you better understand ruler work basics and template markings

There will be plenty of hands-on practice and you will make 3-4 sample blocks to showcase the skills learnt on the day. You’ll be amazed what you can achieve using just one template. The following designs are all stitched using the simple straight edge and curve of the 12” Arc.

EQUIPMENT & MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:

You will need to bring along:
